Infotainment

Infotainment

Classic vehicle infotainment is changing rapidly: smart phone integration into the vehicle keeps gaining importance and mobile services play an ever-increasing role. This makes systems more and more complex. The foundation for the development and validation of these functions is a comprehensive understanding of the overall system, from the vehicle to the communication channel – usually mobile radio – to the server.

Our infotainment experts deal with the development and integration of these functions. From navigation development to automotive apps to highly accurate map data.

Development of an HTML5 framework for a new infotainment system

Our team prepared the conceptual design and created a software development kit for the realization of new infotainment HMIs. The software architecture and interfaces were defined for developed based on HTML5. Tooling and the build chain were established as well. Various infotainment apps (media, speech, contacts and others) were also implemented in the course of development.

Connected car validation

The project team tested connected car functionality with a focus on electric and hybrid vehicles.
Car2x functions such as an electricity price dependent charging timer, range assistant and
intermodal navigation (route combination with the vehicle and public transit) were validated for
these models. The project encompassed test case preparation, free and guided testing, analysis,
error management and close coordination with the participating development departments.
